I'm assuming that the Alpha will be ready on or after July 4th. So what does it need to stand as a worthy one in it's own right?
-The first completed characters.
From what I remember, Hali, the Ascension X guy and the chick thing character from Freedom Planet are the confirmed characters. For an alpha phase, they'll have to do.
-A tutorial.
Reasoning seems obvious enough.
-2 stages max.
I imagine the Gauntlet stage will be in the alpha, as well as another stage.
My main train of thought for thinking of these aspects was the PSASBR demo. It came with 5 characters(Kratos, Fat Princess, Sly Cooper, Colonel Radec, and Sweet Tooth), a tutorial, 2 levels and minor online matchmaking. Of course, since it's an alpha compared to a pre-release demo, I don't expect it to be identical in the very slightest. But it's a template to work on.
Thoughts?

LIQUIDFGC- The Full pre-alpha demo will be available around July 4th. I can confirm that Titus + Hali will be making an appearance. Our animators just began animating this week on both Rin + Spade so I can't promise any details on those 2 characters at this point in time. I will be working heavily with Clefawn to get a Options menu layout setup for when the game streams! Hmm, I can do you one better. We should have 3 fully playable stages for Indie Assault's forthcoming streaming build which includes: Imperium City, Dragon Valley, and Gauntlet Showdown stages respectively! Also, we have 20 additional color palettes working for Titus and Hali in-place and will be working on additional colors for Spade and Rin as time moves forward. Sincere regards, Jared Gingerich

The hype is getting TOO real for this game!
Seriously though, I can't wait to get my hands on this demo around the 4th of July. I do wonder though, what items will be in this demo? Also, if we can get a sample of the songs that will play in each stage, sort of like how the Super Smash Bros. Brawl website did?
Also, a quick suggestion, if it's possible, please make the menus more appealing and immersive than PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale's menu. When it was Title Fight, its menu looked spectacular, but when it became PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the menu because overwhelmingly bland.
Let it be known that Indie Assault is THE go to game for everyone's indie brawling pleasure!

Thank you ndukauba!!! Regarding, the items. I will be working with both mike and Kyrodo to get the requested Lazer Gun and Ball Hole Creation Ball working in-engine before the July 4th, live video broadcast of the game. Also, chuckles yeah I know what you mean. The menu's in PSABR are downright bland... BrianW has graciously made a nicely refined Main Menu based on the Kickstarter feedback, and the character selection is under active reworking of its aesthetic look. I also will be discussing with my Lead Programmer Kyrodo about re-tooling the stage select menu to appear like the Spiral gallery view from the horizontal look on an Android phone of pictures. Best regards!! Jared★

LIQUIDFGC- That main menu for Title Fight looks absolutely gorgeous. The final version PSABR was like a nasty turd compared to the potential that Title Fight showcased alone in its original GDD + concept sketches. mike- Dude!! You have to check out the Title Fight concept art, here!, its insane how solid it looks and would definitely benefit you being an epic and remarkable Art Director.

What's the full pre-alpha demo going to be released on? PS4? Steam?

The pre-alpha will be streaming on July 4th, and tentative at the beginning of August for feedback and improvement.
The Alpha V 1.0 will be available in September and will be shopped around to Publishers. At which point, we decide to sell the IP or Self-publish in October to PS4 after our IndieCade 2014 booth/ demonstration!

July 4th is our deadline for another prototype. We're going to demo it on a livestream.
October is when we're going to have an alpha build ready.

@community-
My team definitely has a ton of work ahead of us for the Pre-alpha public streaming of Indie Assault in early July, yet I want to make it a point now. That each and every detail you like and dislike thus far I hope you iterate upon in new threads here on the forums in the Feeback section about areas that are going in the right direction and other areas that you demand we revise or add to in the feedback area of this site.
After seeing Smash 4 in action I am absolutely mystified of how much content + quality they have implemented for fans of the title. Imagination Vent is driving this game home hard that this is the people's fighting game and we want any and all Feeback related to improving the overall gaming experience to exceed player's expectations.
Keep in mind, we are not Smash though at the same time we are innovating upon areas we feel the game can improve upon like live character models in the character selection screen to showcase there [suggested] playing style in their posture/ animation. As with Smash 4 your still only getting a 2D silhouette and have to guess how the character handles for a Noob playing the game.
Terrific regards! Jared Gingerich Creative Game Director Imagination Vent, LLC
