Hey guys, I just wanted to share this community with all California residents. This is a fighting community that regularly meet up and do tournaments and casuals each week. I usually frequent Mondays as they do Marvel Mondays that day. They are all super friendly and willing to teach others (like myself) any thing they know. I think this is a good thing for anyone to experience as we are working on a fighting game. I think this can help us see what the fighter experience really is. I would also like to use this as an opportunity to meet some of you on our team! For those who don't live in or near San Diego, they also stream regularly. I know they stream on Mondays around 7pm PST and sometimes Wed and Fri around the same time. Monday is Usually Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom and other less mainstream games on the other days, like Battle Fantasia. I'd love to see some of you guys out there! www.sandiegofgc.com/

So Philocypher, did you get a chance to test out TGC Heroes? So what did you think about it, once you have the overall design it starts shaping together nicely. My favorite is Stick-man's special move where he whips out a Bazooka and shoots down his opponents.

It's an amusing representation, but it's preeetty glitchy.
You can't back out of the character selection screen. Pressing ok or back just leads you to character selection again. When configuring controls, the selector immediately sticks to the first item you touch and cannot be changed without backing out first. A character performs its victory dance frozen in midair, upside down if they were rotated, and with shield on if they were guarding. If the player was guarding before winning the stage and comes back to it, the shield from the previous match is still there. It's easy to get stuck in the edge of the middle platform at The Swamp. Sometimes when an enemy is knocked off to the right of the screen, the gray backing of the level box shows and blocks the view. Sometimes the announcer forgets to call out the character name of player 2. This one happens randomly.

Hey Jared,
It is quite humorous, but needs alot of work on the game-play aspect. The hit and hurt boxes tend to be inconsistent depending on who your fighting and what weapon they are wielding. I was fighting Caberello and despite being no where near him and no animation on his part, he was knocking me across the screen. I also think the knock-back from basic attacks is a bit extreme.
The Walk/run cycle and hit animations are rather stuff and at times unclear to what they are doing.
Re-spawn time is a bit too short, and I think should have some sort of visual indicator.
All in all it has the fundamentals of what makes a game a game, It just needs more work. I think it was an ambitious effort at making a SSB style game.
Any issues I address are strictly for the purpose of bring them to attention and making sure we address them for BF.
For a school project it's a rather impressive first try.
Also how familiar are you with the fundamentals of fighting games? Ex: Counting frames, hit boxes, hurt boxes, ect.

Kyrodo and Philocyher- Great! I am glad you guys had so much feedback. With that intuition, and beforehand knowledge any obstacles such as those addressed you now how to combat and resolve a solution for them!! I am pretty familiar with the fundamentals of fighting games, but TGC Heroes was THE biggest fighting game I have ever personally made myself from start to finish. To be honest, I wouldn't have traded my experience on that specific title for anything. Best regards! Jared~

Attention: All Team Members-
If you truly feel you are able to succeed, and want to impress Imagination Vent. Than, I highly recommend working in sync with me this Black Friday. We need four more BlueTooth controllers once our studio officially opens its doors in February. I have two Ouya consoles, two Ouya BlueTooth controllers, and my 2 personal DualShock 3 controllers. Bionic Fighters will require a minimum of eight BlueTooth controllers to play-test in the studio.
GameStop's Black Friday AD is having a buy 2 used game controllers get one free if someone wanted to head to there local GameStop for Black Friday to snag 3 used DualShock 3 controllers to bring to the table when they interview with Imagination Vent in February.
Sincerely,
Jared Gingerich
