Lyon should highly consider contacting amnita design for joseph From machinarium and the four bugs from botanicula, mojang for steve(might be really tough), team meat for super meat boy, head up games for Isaac from the binding of Isaac, play dead for the character from Limbo, Klei entertainment Wilson from dont starve

belowzer0- We aren't going to be working on acquiring the Limbo license. Our team couldn't properly come up with a moveset for the "shadow child" character. Also, keep in mind some properties aren't indie owned anymore. That specifically happened in the case of Dust.

Some more are Miles Ypshur from outlast by red barrel games, Abe from oddworld(highly probable because they really wanted him in allstars and was actually in at one point, so your chances should be good) by Just Add Water, Gomez from fez by polytron corporation,Tim from braid by pothead games, Hat Girl from a Hat in Time by Gears for Breakfast(you should highly consider this one because this ones looks to be popular), Spelunker from Spelunky by Derek Yu, anything from thatgamecompany, older and younger brother from Brothers a Tale of Two Sons by starbreeze studio, Papo and Yo by minority media, Lil and Laarg from escape plan by fun bits interactive, Tiny and Big from Black Pants Game studio.
I highly recommend contacting the majority if these studios because a lot of these characters are pretty well known and would add some star power. Some of these companies have to say yes to letting you use their characters.

This statement brings back bad times when the entire community was pissed at SuperBot/SSM for dropping them along with Dart from Legend of Dragoon. Somehow getting him(Abe) in here would really say something. |

If they could get Abe, Steve or Super Meat Boy, it would change the game completely. I think if they got an indie character as popular as them, it would inspire other indie companies to put their characters in.
It's kinda like if Crash Bandicoot was in psabr. The developers would have to pay a ton of money to get him, but they easily make that money in the first week. This applies to Steve. I think they should pay a hefty amount for Steve if they can afford it (or put it as a kickstarter if Mojang is ok with it).

You guys should also check out the character from Stealth: A Clone in the Dark by Curve Studios. That character would be very interesting

LIQUIDFGCYeah, Abe from Oddworld would definitely have some weight to acquiring his license as his game recently had an HD remaster which I believe also came to the PlayStation 4 online store.

If you are asking other indie companies. I know that Lab Zero is wanting Skullgirls to get more popular. Maybe you can ask them if you guys can use one of the characters, most likely Filia.
You can maybe ask Pencil Test Studios for Tommynaught for their game Armikrog that is coming out this year.
